World Mental Health Day 2019
Today is World Mental Health Day. Mental health is about our well-being, our emotional health and is just as important as physical health. Having good mental health allows us to make the most of our potential, allows us to cope with life and to play a full part in our families, our workplace, with our friends and in the community.
Assembly today focused on well-being and those who can help. Already this year we have spoken to the children about our school safety net, the safe-guarding team and those in school who are here to help them should they have any worries or concerns. Ensuring that the children are safe, happy and enjoying school is paramount.
This year we continue to have Linda-Jayne Elliott as our school counsellor and parents can make a referral for their child should they have any worries they wish to discuss. After half-term we will also be running a drop-in session for parents who may wish to take the opportunity to speak with Linda-Jayne. A number of children and families in the school have benefitted from the counselling service and we are fortunate to be able to provide this through Extended Schools' funding.
