We are right on track for the Big Pedal. Let’s continue to ‘scoot and cycle our way to school!’

27th Apr 2021

Good afternoon everyone. Can I start by saying a huge thankyou to everyone for making such an effort to scoot, walk or cycle to and from school over the past few weeks. We really do appreciate it so very much!  We are currently number 18 in the Northern Ireland leaderboards and are keen to continue to give one last push over the next few days before the end of the Big Pedal on Friday. Therefore we have decided to hold a ‘scoot or cycle your way to school’ day for the different Key stage classes over the next few days whereby children will be asked to bring their bike or scooter to school on their day and will be given the opportunity to practice their cycling skills on school grounds with their teacher. The days for each key stage to bring their bikes or scooters to school are as follows:

Nursery, P1 and P2 - Wednesday 28th April.

P3 and P4 - Thursday 29th April.

P5, P6 and P7 - Friday 30th April.

Throughout these three days could I please ask Nursery parents to park in the main bottom staff car park as the turning circle will be in use with various classes and will therefore be cordoned off until Lunchtime.

I would also like to remind everyone that Friday will also be a non-uniform day to celebrate the end of the Big Pedal and as always children are asked to park their bikes and scooters outside their classrooms and wear a helmet and high visibility clothing if possible when bringing their bike or scooter to school. Happy pedalling everyone!
