Sustrans Support and Info

26th Mar 2020

Some info from Johnny McCrystal, our Sustrans Active Travel Officer, on support they will be providing in the weeks ahead. Looks fun! Thanks Johnny!

Each Monday I’ll be sending out a weekly activity which you’re welcome to share out to your school community in whatever way you usually communicate – Parent mail, See-Saw, social media etc. The activity will contain a short YouTube video, hosted by us as well as a pdf activity sheet which families can watch together and do the activity/mini-lesson. These will be simple but fun activities to explore the theme of active school travel, all from the safety and comfort of their own home!

We all know how much pupils love having a visitor come into school to take a special lesson or assembly and so we were conscious that they might miss out on that extra wee bit of variety over the coming months so each Sustrans Officer will be a kind of ‘virtual visitor’ popping up each week to add to the home-schooling experience that’s going on. I hope that that sounds good?

This Monday (30th) the theme is ‘Bicycle Floor Art’ – really easy and fun activity, which uses items from around the home and is great for all age groups. I look forward to sharing this all soon.
