Primary 4O Tasks Tuesday 2 March 2021

1st Mar 2021

Hello boys and girls. These are your tasks for today. I have put in another fun World Book Day ๐Ÿ“šactivity in your Literacy task for today. Remember to upload your finished work so I can view it and give you some feedback. Have a good day, stay safe and try your best.๐Ÿ˜€

Literacy

In your New Wave English in practice booklet, complete Day 7. Only do Day 7 today.

Today we are focussing on Guided Reading ๐Ÿ“– Have a look on the timetable for today and see which book or chapter ๐Ÿ“šyour group have to read. Once you have read your book or chapter, discuss what you have read with the adult who has listened to you. Once you have done this, take from your learning pack, the task for this piece of Guided Reading. When you answer your questions remember to use full sentences, capital letters and full stops. Remember to make sure your handwriting is neat and well presented. Read over your answers to ensure they make sense and are answering the question.

Once you have completed your Guided Reading task then you have an opportunity to continue learning and testing yourself on your weekly spellings which you received on Monday.

For today’s World Book Day activity I would like you to have a go at designing your very own corner bookmark. There is a basic instruction sheet attached below. If you go onto the website at www.redtedart.com/corner-bookmarks-designs/ you will see how to make a number of different designs. So give it a go and have fun.๐Ÿ˜Š

Remember to upload your work so I can view it and give you some feedback.

Numeracy

In your learning pack you will find your mental maths workbook for the next four weeks. Complete Tuesday’s  tasks for the second week.

As we know we are looking at money. We are looking at the coins we use and how we can use our addition, subtraction and multiplication skills that we have been learning this year and apply them to money.

Remember we only have the following coins in our currency or money 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2.

Today we are going to focus on the 50p coin. When it comes to making 50p using money, we are limited to the coins in our money system, 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p and 50p. We do not have all those other numbers such as 3, 4, 7 and so on that we can use. Think what other numbers are not coins in our currency up to 50p.

In your learning packs select Book 1 and complete the next three pages (20, 21 and 22) that focus on the 50p coin. On the first page (20 Coins) in questions 1 - 6 you have to show how much there is altogether. Altogether is your clue word. The second page (21 The 50p coin) focuses on coins changed into a 50p and how much you have altogether. The third page (22 Putting out coins) focuses on putting out the correct coins for the values shown. If you have coins at home you can use them to help you make up the values.  Remember you can only use the coins we have in our currency. That will complete booklet 1.

Remember to upload your work so I can view it and give you feedback.

P.E.

Today we are going to workout with Joe Wicks’ P.E. Fitness programme. Have a look at last week’s video, which is last Wednesday’s (24 February) broadcast and see how you get on. I have put the link to the video, which is on YouTube, below. Remember that exercise is good for your fitness and both your physical and mental health. So click on the link, get fit and enjoy๐Ÿƒ‍โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ‍โ™‚๏ธ

Diary

I would like you to complete a diary entry for today. Remember to date your entry and answer the following questions:

How do I feel today? What did I like doing? What’s the weather like? What is happening in the world today?

For the last question you will have to listen to the news or ask an adult.

Remember to upload your work so I can view it and give you feedback.
