Hello boys and girls
As you are aware this is parent interview week. This week we will be doing a project for WW2, along with our numeracy and literacy work. Please read carefully the instructions for the World Around Us regarding the project.
Literacy
Today we are going to do a short comprehension called ‘The Vulture‘, which is attached below. This is to be completed in your in your literacy books. Remember to date and title your work. In part A you only need to write the word. In part B you need to copy out the sentences and fill in the missing words. I will not be setting any new spellings for this week.

Numeracy
Complete Monday’s mental maths which is attached. Write your answers in your numeracy book, remember to date and number your answers. I would like you to look at your task for today which is attached below. This task involves problems using your 4 times table knowledge. I would like you to do your work in your numeracy book. Make sure you number your questions and write your work neatly and read over the questions and your answers carefully. Remember to upload your finished work so I can view it and give you feedback.
World Around Us
As part of our World Around Us topic of World War II, we will be completing a research project on one of the leading figures of World War II. For example, Adolf Hitler, Winston Churchill, Anne Frank or any other Important person involved in the war. The purpose of this project is to allow you to use and develop your research skills by using the Internet or books in order to gain information and knowledge about your chosen person. You will present your finished research facts to the class. This we will do when we come back to school as a whole class sometime in the future. Your project can either be as a booklet or poster. I would ask you not to print off loads and loads of pages from the Internet as much of it you may not understand. Your project should contain facts about your chosen person such as their date and place of birth, some information about their early life, anything interesting about them and what they did during World War II. As with any project this will take time to do so you have all this week and until after half term to complete your project. I am not giving you too much literacy or numeracy work along with your project as it takes time to read information from the Internet or books and then put down the facts that you need for your project. I’m not looking for a very long project or one with tons and tons of detail that you don’t understand as I said earlier we will present these projects when we come back to class sometime in the future. I’m looking forward to hearing and seeing the results of your research and fact-finding. Enjoy it and good luck.
