Primary 4O tasks 2 February 2021

1st Feb 2021

Hello boys and girls

These are your tasks for today. They are also uploaded to Teams. Make sure you upload your finish tasks so that I can view them and give you feedback.

Literacy

As this is National Storytelling Week, we are going to listen to a story called Arnie the Doughnut by Laurie Keller and read my Chris O’Dowd. The story can be found on YouTube by typing in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E67n1vZZjQ (Arnie the Doughnut). Listen to the story carefully, because it contains lots and lots of useful information for the task you have to do. Your task is attached below and you should complete it in your literacy books. There is no need to write out the questions just answer them and make sure that your work is dated, has a title and the questions are numbered.Enjoy the story.

Numeracy

Today we are going to continue with our multiplication tables. We are going to use our tables to solve some word problems.

But before we start let’s warm up. Let’s count up in twos and fives from 1 to 100 then I would like you to count all the way back down to 1. Now I would like you to count up in tens to 100 and all the way back down to 1. How did you get on? Maybe you could time yourself, set yourself a target. See if you can beat it. Now I would like you to count up from 1 to 30 in threes and from 1 to 40 in fours. How did you get on? Now I would like you to count up in sixes from 1 to 60. How do you think you got on?

I would like you to look at your task for today. The task is attached below. I would like you to do your work in your numeracy book making sure you write out the sum not the question and then answer the problem. Make sure you number your questions and you write neatly and read your questions carefully.
