P7s PLEASE READ - Leavers' Book

18th May 2020

Right you lovely lot... since you have missed out on sooooo much fun 'stuff' this term... (I know, it's just so unfair) I really want to put together a leavers' book for you all... and it's only because I love you all so much that I'm doing this (I wouldn't do it for just any old class... but sure you're my wee superstars)… but to make it work, I really, really need your help!

So, this year's book will be a little different from those you may have seen in the past... there will be no big class photos of you all on the steps of Stormont, or flying through the air at Woodhall... but I will do my very best to fill it full of Braidside memories... Now... YOUR JOB!!!!!

I need each of you to send me a photograph of you at home.... I don't want to see you in school uniform, I want to see you in the comfortable clothes you are wearing at home... you could be in the garden, you could be walking your dog, you could be baking a cake... or just waving at the camera... (just make sure that it is a clear photo that you are going to be happy looking back on FOREVER lol)

I also want you to write a short paragraph to say your goodbyes. A few sentences... now, these will not be like other years, because your P7 year ended in such a unique and awful way. So this is a chance to tell people that you miss them, what you miss most about normal life and what you are looking forward to most about when things return to normal. So, for example, mine might say:

"Hi everyone. I feel really sad that our P7 year ended 4 months early. I really miss hugging people and eating out in restaurants... but I'm loving how much time I get to spend with my dogs! I really can't wait to get to a hairdresser :)"

Get the idea???

I also want you to think about funny moments that you think will give everyone a giggle or just revive a memory in years to come... these don't have to be from P7... they can be from nursery onwards... again... keep them short and email them to me.

Next I want you to think about trends and songs and films that have been really popular this year... by trends I mean things like 'everyone doing tik tok dances' (Mrs O'Neill did one... don't tell her I told you) or 'everyone baking banana bread' but these don't have to be just from our time in lockdown... anytime from the past year is fine.

Now, the teachers are helping me by providing some ideas and pictures... but this is YOUR leavers' book. SO PLEASE HELP... SPREAD THE WORD TO OTHERS. Reminder of my email address:

I really look forward to getting your contributions... Oh, did you read Mrs McAuley's post about the tea party? YAY!!!!! I'm finally going to get a tea party.

Bye for today, love from Mrs Young xx
