P6/7C Week Beginning 11th May

10th May 2020

Good Morning Everyone

It is hard to believe that it is over 7 weeks since we were last in school together. I hope you all had an opportunity to watch the video message, on Facebook or the school website, from all the Braidside staff (I'll not tell you how many goes it took for me to get a photo I was happy with!!). We really are missing you all and looking forward to when we are back together again. Also ask your parents if they have replied to the survey about home learning, I am very keen to know if there is anything else I can do to help you out.

Work for this week:

Mental Maths: The same as the last few weeks I have sent you 4 mental maths tests, if you were in group 2 maths in school you might just want to do mental maths test 1 and 2. I have also included a times table speed test, I hope you are still going over times table facts, chanting or even playing some of the speed games with your family.

Spellings: If you normally do 15 spellings please do page 3 of the spelling mistake booklet from last week, some of the words are tricky so remember to use a dictionary to check for the correct spelling. If you normally do 10 spellings I have given you ten more spellings to correct and learn this week. (I think I made a bit of a mistake last week and only sent you 5 spellings! Oops!!)

Maths: This week I have given you some money problems to do, group 2 if you just have a go at the first two pages. If you are looking for some more maths challenges to have a go at I would recommend the following website www.iseemaths.com it has lots of activities about number patterns and strategies. If you click on home learning and then choose Y3&4, Y5&6 or Games. Also remember about Hit the Button to help with recall of your maths facts.

Comprehension: Hopefully you still have a few of the comprehension activities to complete from your learning pack.

Writing: Choose a few of the activities from Pobble 365 to complete. Please feel free to send me some examples of your written work.

Remember, as always just do as much work as you can and if you have still pieces of work to finish from your learning pack you can do some of it. I hope you are still doing lots of fun activities with your family and it would be lovely to hear about what you have been up to.

Take care and stay safe.
