P5M notes for Monday, 15th March 2021

14th Mar 2021

Monday,  15th March 2021

Hi boys and girls, we are now starting week 9 of our online learning.

I could see last week from our guided reading sessions and our Friday catch-up that you are now getting tired.  One night last week, when Harry was going to bed he turned to me and said, “That’s it, Mummy.  I’m done with online learning!”  He has had enough and really wants back to school so I had to reassure him that we haven’t long to go until the Easter Holidays and then we can have a break.  This week we are off school on Wednesday, for St Patrick’s Day and the following Friday, we will finish half day for Easter.  This week is also Integrated Education Week at Braidside.  So, boys and girls, hang in there as we don’t have long to go until Easter. 🐣

March is Integrated Education Month and is an opportunity every year for Integrated Schools and the whole Integrated Movement to collectively celebrate and reflect on what makes us unique.

This year the theme is “Together”

This week I will try to incorporate more fun tasks for us to do for both Integrated Week and St Patrick’s Day

Our plan for Monday, 15th March is as follows

Session 1 – Numeracy

New Waves Mental Maths – Pg 18 (Mon).  I will post the answers on Monday afternoon.

Multiplying by 3 Quiz.  Listen to the 3 times tables song (Multiplying by 3) on YouTube https://youtu.be/UnbV3iBVjc4

Subtracting HTU’s – .  (Word Problem cards 1 -6) (complete questions in your numeracy classwork book, take a photo and hand in) (Assignment)

Session 2 – Literacy.

Spellings – verbs adding ‘ed’.  Complete spelling list and wordsearch.  Watch video to help you.  You do not need to hand this work in. This will be our last week of spellings.  We will start again after Easter.

Comprehension on St Patrick’s Day called Symbols of St Patrick’s Day.  Watch my video for the comprehension.  Once completed hand in your assignment.

Session 3 – Integrated Week Activity 1

Task 1 – I am going to have an Integrated Tree in our Classroom for when we return to school.  For our first task I would like for you to make a label to hang on our tree for the day you return to school. On the label I would like for you to write down one sentence about what does the word “Together” mean for you.  If you prefer you could draw a picture instead.  I have uploaded 2 label templates for you to choose from.  Print off the sheet and then pick the label you like best.  You don’t need to hand this activity in but keep it safe so that you can hang it on our tree when you return to school.

Have fun!
