P5M Activities for Tuesday, 12th January 2021

11th Jan 2021

Hi boys and girls

This will be our outline for our 3 sessions for Tuesday, 12th January.

Session 1 - Numeracy

  • New Waves Maths Pg 2 Section Tuesday.  I will post the answers for this later so you don't need to send this to me.  The answers will be posted on TEAMS
  • Heinemann 4 workbook, pg 3 and 4.  You will need your place value card for this, your materials and a calculator.  We will leave out question 4 on pg4.  Can you upload your finished pages onto TEAMS for me to check please.  Information video can be found on TEAMS

Session 2 - Literacy

  • Handwriting sheet B46
  • Spelling activities - complete Tuesday Column and then the crossword.  I will post your answers on TEAMS for the crossword for you to check.  Don't send this to me.
  • Grammar Task - You will need the booklet called Literacy - Grammar Activities for Tues, Wed and Thursday.  We will do the first page on Homophones.  When you have the 10 questions done, please upload this page onto TEAMS.  The information video for this is on TEAMS
  • Reading - you each have a reading record and reading books in your pack.  At the top of each page in your reading record it tells you the name of the book you will be reading each week.  I would like for you to read 4 days a week.  If you don't get a book finished in a week, don't worry as you can continue on reading the following week.  Inside your pack you will also have a reading workbook that relates to your reading book.  As you complete your reading each day, have a quick look at your workbook to see if you can do any of the workbook pages that matches the pages you have read.  Try to read for at least 20mins each day.

Session 3 - TWAU

Inside your folder you will find a small green TWAU book.  Our new topic for this half term is Journeys.  Inside your pack you will find a plan for all the activities we will be doing over the next 6 weeks.  For Tuesday, I would like for you to complete the worksheet glued into the first page inside your exercise book.  When you have this page done, I would like for you to upload a picture of this work onto TEAMS please.

To summarise, you only need to send me 3 things on Tuesday. PLEASE SEND THEM TO TEAMS

1.  Completed Heinemann 4 workbook - pg 3 and 4

2.  Completed Homophone sheet

3.  TWAU - The sheet on journeys.

If you are completing all your work using the website, please try to go onto TEAMS on Tuesday, as I have uploaded videos to explain each task.  Also, if possible, please send me your completed work through TEAMS.

Thank you

Mrs McLaughlin
