Hi boys and girls, I can’t believe that it is the start of another new month. You have been doing so well since the start of January with the on line learning, so keep up the good work.

Hopefully the weather will start to get warmer too and you will notice that the afternoons/evenings are staying clearer for longer now.

Just a wee reminder that this Thursday is World Book Day and to celebrate we, as a school, will be celebrating all this week. For those children who couldn’t join our Friday catch up, I was telling the children about our plans for this week. This week we won’t have any Literacy sessions. So that means, we won’t have any spellings, any handwriting or any grammar tasks. Instead you will have the opportunity to try out some of the fun reading tasks. Mrs Young is going to post them onto the school website but I will try to post them onto teams too. Each day, you should try to do at least one of the tasks …… you can do more than one if you have time. Mrs Young will have small prizes to give out at the end of the week.

Our plan for Monday, 1^st March is as follows

Session 1 – Numeracy

New Waves Mental Maths – Pg 14 (Mon). I will post the answers on Monday afternoon.

Multiplying by 5 interactive game. Play any of the games to practise your 5 times tables.

Mental Maths strategy – watch video on how to multiply by 10 quickly. Please watch this on Monday so that you can complete the activities for the rest of the week.

Subtracting HTU’s sheet with exchanging 100 – (Watch video, complete sheet and hand in) (Assignment)

Session 2 – Literacy.

World Book Day Activity

Listen to the story I posted onto teams. It’s from a Horrid Henry Book.

Read, read and read some more.
