P3EH notes for week beginning Monday 1st June 2020
Hello again boys and girls,
I hope you are still happy and healthy and enjoying all of the lovely sunshine we have been having! I can’t believe we are now into June and the last month of P3. Time has gone by so very fast. This week apart from teacher’s orders to continue to enjoy the sunshine and get outside as much as possible, I would like you to continue to focus on the work remaining in your workpacks. For literacy we should now be on the comprehension entitled ‘Food’. You will see that the next comprehension in your pack would have been Christmas so just skip forward to food if you can. This ties in nicely with twinkl doing the big lunch this week from the 1st-2nd June if you want to have a look at that if your mummy and daddy have twinkl. As always choose your desired activity in the Nelson Grammar book and please continue writing as much as possible in your lockdown diary and writing to friends etc. Like Cooper you could even type a little letter to me to tell me how you are. Thank-you Cooper, it made my day to hear from you! Please remember to also keep reading as much as possible and challenge yourself regarding what you read. This could include reading to your younger brothers and sisters at night to help them settle at bedtime. I read to Sienna every night before bed and she loves it! Please continue to practice all of your Jolly phonics sounds and spellings. This week’s spelling list is the ‘colours’ list and get mummy and daddy to test you on your spellings later in the week to see how you score!
For Numeracy we are continuing our tens and units addition activities alongside our partitioning booklets and Heinemann booklets. Please continue to practice counting and you could maybe download a 100 square from the internet and get mummy and daddy to ask you questions on this. I will also attach a copy of a minibeast themed 100 square and some related activities below in case you need them. I have also attached a little summer themed maths activity booklet for you to complete but just ignore the multiplication/ division questions/sections as we haven’t covered that or ask mummy and daddy to help you with this.
For WAU this week our focus will be on spiders. Maybe you could use your time outside to hunt for some spiders and see how many you can find. We always have lots of spiders where I live! As usual I have attached some little informative powerpoints and activities for you to complete.
As always please continue to enjoy yourself and make the most of this time at home with your families making memories to look back on for years to come. As always remember to send me some photos and a wee email of what you are up to if you get a chance to the school email address which is info@braidsideintegratedps.ballymena.ni.sch.uk.
Missing you so very much as always, love from Mrs Horan.
