P3EH notes for week beginning Monday 15th June 2020

14th Jun 2020

To all of my little P3 favourites,

Well the time has come and this week marks our final week of online learning in Primary Three. I hope you have enjoyed participating in all of the activities that I have posted on the website and included within your workpacks and I cannot express how much I will miss you as you now move towards becoming big P4’s!

Literacy

For our final week of Literacy we will complete the comprehension entitled ‘sport’ and there are at least six more comprehensions in your pack if you want to complete any extra over the coming weeks. As always please continue your nelson grammar exercises and the spelling list for this final week is ‘Months of the year’. Please continue your lockdown diary and writing as much as possible over the summer as it is very important to keep your writing up prior to joining Primary 4 and obviously don’t forget to read and practice your sounds and spellings as much as possible also! I have also included some minibeast and summer themed comprehensions this week if you wish to complete these.

Numeracy

I hope you enjoyed your introduction to exchange last week and this week we are continuing this theme of exchange with the inclusion of tens (please see attached notes). In addition to this please continue to complete any remaining numeracy activities that you have left within your partitioning and Heinemann booklets and don’t forget to practice your counting and mental maths skills regularly. I have also included a little summer activity for some fun.

TWAU

Now that we are on our final week of our topic and you are 'minibeast' experts, I would like you to complete the ‘what I have learnt’ section of your KWL sheets in your yellow WAU book. Additionally I have included a few little general minibeast activities for you to complete including a look at minibeast habitats and some information on insects that we haven't looked at so far which will hopefully be a nice end to our topic.

Something exciting!

I hope you have been visiting our website and facebook pages recently to see what’s happening in school and that something very exciting is coming up! I won’t ruin the surprise for you so please continue to check out our website and facebook page over the next few days to find out more!

Finally although this is our last week of online learning please remember that I am always still here for you if you need anything. It has been such a privilege to teach you this year even though it was only for a short period of time and I can’t wait to see your lovely little faces and big smiles soon in our brand new school! Have a wonderful summer and please remember to stay safe during all of your adventures.

Sending lots of wishes for a fantastic summer break, Love always from Mrs Horan.
