On your marks, get set, get ready to have the best 'bike to school' week yet!

19th Sep 2023

Hello again everyone and welcome back to another year of active travelling to school. To kickstart this years activities we are once again celebrating 'bike to school' week from Monday 25th September to Friday 29th September. Cycling to school is a fantastic way to start the day and arrive at school feeling energised whilst also doing our part to ease traffic congestion and save the environment. We are also running a little competition amongst classes to see who can get the highest numbers participating to win certificates and the very coveted sustrans trophy so please encourage your child to participate if possible. If you live a farther distance from school you can park on the Fry's Road and scoot or cycle from there. Please ensure that your child is accompanied by an adult and aware of the importance of remaining safe whilst cycling. If possible please also ask that they wear their helmet if they have one alongside some high visibility clothing. I hope that you really enjoy the first active travelling adventure this year and I continue to encourage everyone to walk, scoot and cycle to school as much as possible throughout the school year. Many thanks for your participation as always, Mrs Horan (Active Travel/ Sustrans coordinator).
