GREEN: A different perspective
Yesterday, Monday 18th March, we encouraged everyone to wear something green to school to recognise St Patrick's Day and it was wonderful to see so many get involved. We had children and staff in green hats, socks, jumpers, scarves, green hair and even one top to toe in green! Thank you for getting involved!
However in keeping with our Integrated Education Month theme of "Perspectives", P7Y presented a whole school assembly on the theme of GREEN; that is GLOBAL, RECYCLE, ENVIRONMENT, ECO and NATURE. In their class they have carried out some research about the single-use plastic in our school. The data they provided us with about how many single-use plastics are used in Braidside was both significant and shocking! 28,000 bottles used in 1 school year. They encouraged us to look at our use of plastics from a different perspective and talked about the impact of this on the Earth. We had a fun, interesting, informative assembly which definitely allowed us to #STOPANDLOOKAGAIN.
