Get your bikes, helmets and reflective clothing ready, Road safety week is back once again!

From Monday 20th November to Friday 25th November we will be once again partaking in road safety week and we are encouraging all children as always to travel actively during this week. As the darker morning and evenings are now upon us it is important than ever to educate our children and raise awareness about the importance of road safety and the steps that we all need to take to be road safe. Today we were very fortunate to have a visit from our active travel officer for Sustrans, Johnny McCrystal who showed us his folding bike and talked to us about the ABC check for bikes and the importance of wearing helmets, high visibility clothing and ensuring that when travelling to school on our bikes or scooters we always check that our bike lights/reflectors are working. In advance of Monday we are asking all parents and children to undertake safety checks on bikes and scooters and to talk about the green cross code so that we can all enjoy a lovely week of safely walking, biking and scooting to school.
