Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrritish Science Week Experiment 🥶
13th Mar 2024
P7D have been investigating the effect of temperature on the body. Through this experiment they were trying to understand how the Titanic passengers would have felt in the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean on that fateful night when the Titanic sank.
They tried to build a tower out of cubes and recorded their scores over three attempts, before working out an average. They then held their hands in icy water for one minute before repeating the challenge. We discussed and noted changes in the body that occurred and differences between carrying out the challenge.
We struggled to keep our hands in the water for long and it was warmer than the Atlantic when Titanic sank (it was -2°C.
