Braidside Virtual Open Day- Admissions 2021/22

2nd Dec 2020

Dear Parents,

Due to the particular circumstances of this year, it is disappointing not to be able to host our Annual Open Day and to welcome you into our wonderful new school building. We had hoped to have the opportunity to show you all the classrooms, multi-purpose rooms, play spaces, dining hall and multi-purpose hall as well as allowing our wonderful pupils to guide and talk to you about our school. We hope the  virtual tour, which can be accessed on the homepage, will give you a flavour of our school. Please do take the opportunity to browse the tour, look at the pictures, have a look at the website and if you have questions or queries, we encourage you to contact the school where we will be happy to answer any of your questions.

Over many years, we have frequently heard from parents, visitors and staff, that our integrated school has a very particular warm, inviting and special atmosphere. This was enjoyed and shared, even when we were situated in mobile accommodation! We would have loved you to experience that unique atmosphere- it is our integrated ethos in action and practice; inclusive, recognising and celebrating difference, promoting reconciliation and building together a school and a community where all are equal. We believe that through integration we can be stronger together.

Our vision statement at Braidside is:

"We aim to work together to support each child in reaching their personal and academic potential within a culture of mutual respect".

With this vision in mind, our goal as teachers, Principal and governors is quite straightforward; we want the very best for the children at Braidside and we will continue to work hard to raise the educational outcomes for all the children, within the framework of integration.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our virtual open day and we hope you will visit in person in the future. Throughout January, we hope to be able to add to this information with further clips and pictures of events and activities in Braidside and hope you will visit this webpage again.

Best wishes,

J McAuley

Principal
