15th Mar 2024

What a week we have had!  P6F were tasked with doing an experiment or two at home. They were asked to send in photos and or a little clip of them in action! Boy, did they excel!

However, boys and girls, we do have to give a big thanks to the dedicated camera teams in each home… your parents! 🤗👏🎬. Such a job they did too!  Thanks to everyone for taking the time to send me videos and photos via email for discussion and presentations in class.

We sure do now know the meaning of HYPOTHESES, NULL HYPOTHESES and CONCLUSIONS!  We looked at permanent and temporary changes.  We studied forces and opposite forces.  We looked at ways of speeding up dissolving process.  We analysed results, discussed our observations, drew conclusions, predicted, hypothesised, measured. We sieved and sieved (and made a mess whilst sieving). We also learned that not all science experiments go to plan! And this is OK!  We now understand fair testing and the importance of changing only one variable at a time. We presented our experiments from home, explained our methods taken and what the outcomes were to the rest of the class. We created science teams names for our FULTON’s FINEST LABORATORY. OH YES… and we took Mrs Fulton back to her childhood days with the smell of jelly! We closed the week with a coding activity designing a TIME TRAVELLER game on SCRATCH! Oh yes- and we did an awesome job of tidying up after ourselves!

THIS WEEK WAS FUN.  IN CLASS and AT HOME!
THANKS MRS MCLAUGHLIN FOR ORGANISING!

P6F… remember- an 🍎 a day keeps the doctor🥼 away! Or does it?
