40th Anniversary of IE Celebration Event

23rd Jun 2022

To conclude the 40th anniversary celebrations of Integrated Education, two of our P6 pupils accompanied Mrs Young to a celebration event at Belfast City Hall last Friday 17th June. They had the opportunity to meet children and teachers from many other integrated schools across NI and to listen to various speakers.

Throughout this school year we have taken the opportunity to highlight and participate in many activities that focused on our integrated ethos. From the 40th anniversary launch activities in September, to every child planting bulbs in our school grounds, integrated education month class activities, a special assembly, tree-planting (an oak tree gifted by Lagan College) to finally the City Hall celebration, we hope all of the children have better understanding of our integrated ethos.

As the number of integrated schools in N. Ireland has now reached 70 and with the passing of the Integrated Education Bill, we hope that in future years we will continue to see that number grow.
