We have been focussing on Measure as our maths topic this term. We have been planning a cookery session for two weeks now. We assigned ourselves with tasks, we managed a shopping list, we conducted price comparisons across three major supermarkets, we were responsible for sorting ingredients and utensils, we went through our cookery risk assessment, we were creative, we worked in teams, we delegated, we problem solved, we measured, and we measured and we measured, we baked, rolled, smashed, bashed, melted, mixed, beat, stirred, spread, wrapped … AND SOME OF US ATE THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH!
We had fun. We completed these tasks with very little teacher input.
We are very proud of ourselves and each other.
Do not try this at home. The mess is intense! But we even managed to do a pretty good clean up!
